About DEBs WAY

I work with women in their 50s who know there is more in them and who choose to focus on what they can change: themselves.

Through nutritious food, movement and training suited to this phase of life, and daily self-care routines, we build strength and balance toward a fulfilled life, without excuses or regret, where they feel strong, attractive, and at ease with who they are, and know it’s deserved.

My name is Debora Koelman, and I created DEBs WAY for women who reach a moment many of us know well: “Now it’s my turn.”

After decades of caring for others, managing careers, families, and endless responsibilities, many women reach their 50s feeling worn out, overlooked, or disconnected from themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.
And then the body shifts. Menopause brings changes that are impossible to ignore: weight that won’t budge the way it used to, muscle loss, fatigue, restless nights, mood swings. It can feel like the ground has shifted beneath you, leaving even the strongest woman wondering where her center went.
I know this phase from the inside. It changed everything for me. And it can change everything for you too, not by chasing who you were, but by embracing who you are now. This is the moment to redefine strength, health, and self‑value on your own terms.

My own turning point

At 51, during the pandemic, I made a decision that reshaped my life: I wanted to be fit, really FIT! For years, I poured my energy into everyone else, family, work, responsibilities. Consistency and intention were always there, but rarely directed toward myself.
In my 50s, that had to change. Not because I wanted to become someone else, but because I finally chose to take care of myself with the same dedication I had always given to others. I learned to listen to my body instead of fighting it. I practiced introspection, noticing how stress, sleep, and movement shaped my energy and mood. With guidance from a nutrition and training coach, I rebuilt my habits and lost one‑third of my body weight. But the real transformation was deeper than a visible change: it was the confidence of showing up for myself, day after day. That consistency opened doors I never imagined: I started running, completed a marathon and two half marathons, made strength training a non‑negotiable part of my life, and even learned to ski in my 50s.
And the doors didn’t stop at the physical. They opened mentally and spiritually too. I chose a new career, immersed myself in study, graduated with distinction, and continue to learn so I can serve myself and my clients with depth and integrity. I rediscovered resilience, curiosity, and joy in places I had overlooked for years.
This journey wasn’t about restriction or chasing the past. It was about discovering a stronger, wiser version of myself, one who values health, growth, and fulfillment as much as she once valued taking care of everyone else.
It was structured, honest, slow, and deeply personal: the same qualities that now define DEBs WAY.

“Owning your story is the bravest thing you’ll ever do.”

My background: professional expertise meets lived experience

Before starting DEBs WAY, I spent many years working in the food industry, leading technical and ICT-related projects.
It taught me structure, analysis, planning, communication, and how to guide people through change. But it also taught me something else: I wasn’t fulfilled anymore.

Helping women in their 50s with clarity, evidence-based nutrition, strength habits, realistic routines, and emotional grounding — is not only my work. It’s my conviction.
It’s the next chapter of my life. Join me and make it the next chapter of yours.
My practice combines:
Advanced knowledge in nutrition, menopause, and behaviour change.
A calm, structure way of working that brings clarity and consistency.
Lived experience that resonates with my clients’ realities.
A multilingual approach (Dutch, English, Spanish) that supports both locals and expats.
Discretion and a private one-to-one setting.
Women trust me because I bring together:
Professional knowledge grounded in evidence and experience.
A deep understanding of midlife and menopause
Discretion, maturity, and depth.
Personal guidance tailored to each woman’s life
A way of working that prioritises quality, not volume
DEBs WAY isn’t about doing everything perfectly or following strict rules. It’s about building a way of living that fits your real life now and in the years ahead.

Who I work best with

Women who are ready to take responsibility
Women who want calm structure, not chaos
Women who appreciate honest communication
Women who want a plan that fits their life
Women who value depth over trends
Women who want their strength — inside and out — to match who they truly are

If this is you, we may work very well together.

How I work

There is no generic plan, no trendy hacks, no rigid rules.
Everything we do together is tailored to your physiology, your schedule, your personality, and your goals.
My method focuses on four pillars:
Nutrition that supports menopause and midlife changes.
Strength training — simple, accessible, essential.
Lifestyle routines that reduce overwhelm and bring clarity.
Emotional and mental well-being, because strength starts insides.

You bring the commitment. I bring the method. DEBs WAY becomes your way.

A little more about me

I was born in Argentina, studied in Israel, traveled the world, and eventually moved to the Netherlands, where I live with my husband, my twin daughters, and our dog Cheffie. I’m both a planner and a dreamer.
I love reading, running, skiing, cooking without recipes, clean aesthetics, and moments of doing absolutely nothing.
I’m a control freak in the best sense — structured, organized, and clear. But I also have a big heart and a simple mission: You deserve guidance that sees you, respects you, and meets you where you are.
